1. Digging gaps needs proper time

24 hours later after paving tiles, means after the paving tiles is dry, then we can start digging gaps.

Because the paving tile is not solid enough after paving not so long time, if we fill the tile gap improper, paved tiles will not flat or fall off. Except that, filling gaps too early, the gap filling agent will have re-alkali effect.

Consider of the tile construction is during the early time of decoration, easy to get dirty, so it is better to fill gap during the last time of decoration. Certainly, before filling gaps, we need clean the gaps.

2. Digging gaps needs proper materials

Now the usual digging gap material includes white cement, digging gap agent, putty powder, gap beautified agent and jell, etc. Putty powder and white cement is the more traditional use material, because their waterproof and scrubbing resistance is not good, they are usually used in balcony and exterior space. For home exterior decoration, we usually choose professional gap beautified agent and jell which has good waterproof and scrubbing resistance, also has different color and type, provides us more choice.

Different tile has different gap filling craft. Generally speaking, we need use rubber spatula scrap large scale of the gap, then fill the gap, which is for vitrified tile and tile with very smooth and flat surface.
